Schools, Plumbers, & Justice
This was for a conference in Louvain la Neuve hosted by the Bernheim Foundation on the topic of social responsibility and division of labor. For the occasion, I argued that however we evaluate the justice of societies as a whole, it remains an open question whether the job of plumbers or of schools is to do everything that a just society is suppose to do. Plato might have been right about that. Danielle Zwarthoed provided an excellent response.
